History Guides - Lafayette

Topic Areas

Introduction

This guide is here to assist in locating information regarding certain historic periods and important individuals of the past. The topic areas included in this guide are the the history of the United States, African history, Asian history, women's history, the history of science, the history of war, etc.

We hope that these resources are helpful as you work on your papers and projects here at Ivy Tech Lafayette. History is something which can teach all of us valuable lessons, as well as open our eyes to experiences which we might never go through personally. It is by means of studying the past that we can come to appreciate our present, but also, hopefully, adjust things for the future. We are not our ancestors, but we should view their failures and successes as points of reference as we create a world for our descendants.

If at any point during your research process you run into difficulty in locating resources (articles, books, images, etc.), please feel free to reach out to the Ivy Tech Lafayette library staff. Librarians are available virtually, through the Ask-a-Librarian service, and they will be happy to help!

Have a wonderful semester!
