Library guide to describe procedures for the checkout, pickup, and return of library materials.

Curbside Pickup at Your Library!

Please bring your Ivy Tech picture ID, driver's license and C#, or state-issued ID and C# to the library.

*If you need to come inside, masks are required in all campus buildings.*

Step 1: Make a request.

What to do :

1.  Search for the item you need on the library website.

We cannot have items sent from other libraries at this time, so please be sure the item is available at your campus. 

2.  Write the Title, Edition (if applicable), and ISBN. We will need that information when you place your request.

3.  Contact us to make the request: (Choose One)

  1. Call the library (317-921-4219) during business hours (9 am-5:00, 4:00 on Fridays) to place a request.
    We will need your name, Ivy Tech email, phone#, C#, pickup time, and the information you got from step 2.
  2. Place a request online through Ask-a-librarian.
    We will need your name, Ivy Tech email, phone#, C#, pickup time, and the information from step 2.
  3. Place a request using our online form.
    We will need your name, Ivy Tech email, phone#, C#, pickup time, and the information from step 2.
    Remember, we cannot request items from other libraries at this time.

4.  Check for confirmation.

We will contact you via your Ivy Tech email within 24 hours to confirm your request.

If you do not receive a confirmation message, please check your spam/junk folder, or contact us. 

 

Curbside Pickup Service will be available from 9:30 to 4:00 Monday-Friday.

Please be aware that if the campus is closed, the library will also be closed.
 

*Evening and weekend curbside service is not available. Please contact us for additional options.

Step 2: Pick up your items.

What to do :

1.  Call the Lawrence Library to verify if your request is available for pickup at 317-921-4219, option #3.

Curbside pickup begins at 9:30 and ends at 4:00 p.m.  We will verify your name, C number, requested items, and pickup time.

2. Drive to the Lawrence Campus Library and park in the north parking lot near Door 20.  

3. Call 317-921-4219 and let us know you are here and the make/color of your vehicle. 

4.  Wait a few minutes. We will bring out your requested items. We will need you to verify and sign for pickup, and you will be on your way.  Please have your student ID available.

The date and time items are due will be on your receipt. If your receipt is missing, or if you need assistance, please contact us: (317) 921-4219.

Step 3: Return items to the library.

What to do :

1.  RenewIf the item you have is renewable, contact us before it is due, and we can renew it for you. Students may renew items from our general collection up to 4 times. Please read our policy for more information.

2. ReturnIf you are returning your items, there is a drop in the hallway outside the library F157.

The date and time items are due will be on your receipt. If your receipt is missing, or if you need assistance, please contact us: (317) 921-4219, or Ask-A-Librarian.

Please be aware that if the campus is closed, the library will also be closed.

**Note: All returned items will be quarantined at least 3 days to reduce the spread of germs. Items in quarantine will be unavailable for checkout. For more information, please read our FAQs page.**
