Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I cannot make it to the library in time for my scheduled pickup. What should I do?

A: Contact the library as soon as possible to reschedule.
Curbside hours are from 9:00am-4:30pm Monday-Friday at the NMC campus; 9:30am-4:00pm at the Lawrence campus.


Q: I need to borrow a textbook, but they're all unavailable. Do I have any other options?

A: Many classes already have textbooks included as a part of the course tuition. Check with your professor to see if this is available for your course.


Q: I missed my scheduled pickup. Will I have to request my items again?

A: We will hold textbooks for 2 hours or until the end of the scheduled pickup day (whichever comes first). Other requested items will be held until the end of the day it was scheduled for pickup. Please contact us immediately to reschedule your pickup time. If we have not heard anything from you by the end of the day, you will need to submit a new request.


Q: I see a lot of books that my library owns are unavailable. Why?

A: It could be the books are checked out, or they are sitting in quarantine after being returned. According to a study done by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and other organizations, most library materials need at least 3 days to minimize exposure to germs. Q: How far in advance can I place a request?

A: You can place requests on textbooks up to 2 hours before you plan to pick up. For other items, you can have items held from 1 week to 1 hour before end of service for pickup on that day. If you need to make other arrangements, please contact us.


Q: How do I cancel a request?
