Ivy Tech Community College is committed to helping you achieve a future in Automotive Technology. The Automotive Technology program gives you career opportunities in diagnostic and repair for today's automobiles. With A.S.E master certified instructors, Ivy Tech Community College offers students hands-on training coupled with lab experience to enable students to thrive as automotive technicians.
Earn your Certificate, Technical Certificate or Associate's Degree! Students receive hands-on experience on current repair and diagnostic equipment that is being used in the automotive field today. Computer usage and skills along with network communication diagnosis have become critical skills required to quickly and accurately diagnosis newer automobiles, hybrid and alternative fueled vehicles, and heavy diesel trucks. This is a hands-on training program that allows plenty of lab time to develop the skills needed to be successful in whichever emphasis of study the student chooses to go into. Through your choice of electives, you can choose the emphasis of study you would like to pursue.

ASE partners with NATEF (National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation) to better prepare students to maintain today's cars. The new NATEF model establishes three levels of accreditation: Maintenance and Light Repair (MLR); Auto Service Technology (AST), and Master Auto Service Technology (MAST). The differences at each level are reflected in the number of tasks, number of instructional hours, and the instructor qualifications.
The ASE Study Guides for the various ASE tests series can be viewed by clicking on the link above to access the different topics. There’s an ASE Study Guide for each test series: a detailed ‘roadmap’ of the individual tests, with sample questions and suggestions for further preparation.
