This guide provides information resources for students doing company or industry related research.
A listing of the web sites for the Secretaries of State for each state in the union. Corporate and business information is usually handle in these state offices.
There is a lot of good financial information available on the Web and the sites listed below are good starting points. There is also a lot of good funadamental information about companies, their reports and general investing/financials @ Investopedia.
There is a lot of information at Yahoo under the individual company listings as well as information under industries. You can find breif profiles, limited listing of exec, links to SEC filings, news, and some free analyst information.

An excellent site for information on general business sources, company and industry information.
Finding information on public companies is relatively easy. There are many sources, both print and online, that will provide comprehensive information on almost all public companies. The databases below are subscribed to by Ivy Tech and provide a starting point for company research. Some of the databases will include some information on private companies.
Information on privately held companies is much less available. We have listed specific sources for this type of information in the column to the left of this section.
"The Value Line Investment Survey is a comprehensive source of information and advice on approximately 1,700 stocks in 98 industries, the stock market, and the economy. This is a Tippecanoe County Public Library database so it REQUIRES A CURRENT TCPL LIBRARY CARD.

Many companies provide public information on ther company vis the Web. Some companies provide more information than others, but this can be a very lucrative source of research information. Typical pages include history, press releases, list of executives, SEC filings, etc. Public companies generally provide more inforation than private companies.
