Education - Central Indiana: For Student Teachers

Children's Literature General Sites

Novelist K-8 - NoveList allows teachers to use students’ favorite books to find more books to read and use. The powerful search engine uses rich subject headings to search by instructional unit, theme or topic. You can find stories that are set in a particular country for use with geography units, books about different cultures and relationships, as well as titles to help students develop their appreciation of literature. Reviews often identify the instructional uses of titles, as well - whether a book is suitable for reading aloud, for example. NoveList has Book Talks for selected young adult and children's titles. These short engaging descriptions of books are a perfect way to introduce students to new titles. They also liven up book displays and bulletin boards.
