The National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) is required in order to obtain a license to practice as a registered nurse and as licensed practical/vocational nurse. The exam is administered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing. This is a test of basic competency that allows you to demonstrate your abilities as an entry-level nurse.
