Reference and research assistance

  1. Come by University Library of Columbus and request help from a librarian.

  2. Chat online with a librarian or send an email to a librarian using the Ask-A-Librarian service.  We try to respond within 24 hrs.

  3. Phone the library at 812-375-7510 and ask for reference help.

Borrowing from our library - Ivy Tech-Columbus students, faculty and staff can checkout items from University Library of Columbus (ULC). Presentation of a library card is required at check-out.  Students, faculty and staff can obtain a library card in the ULC by presenting a photo ID.

Borrowing  from other libraries - Ivy Tech-Columbus students, faculty and staff can enjoy delivery of books and articles from other IU and Ivy Tech libraries when they are not located at our  local campus using the ILLiad interlibrary loan system. 

  1. First-time users: 
    1. Get an ILLiad account by filling out the following form: ILLiad Registration for Ivy Tech students only. NOTE: You will need your library card barcode number (see Borrowing from our library above).
    2. After filling out this form, you will need to wait for an email from the University Library of Columbus  which will provide your ILLiad username and password (often by the next business day).
  2. Interlibrary Loan (ILL) - Request books and articles by logging into your ILLiad account from the previous link and completing a request form.  (Please note: This link takes you to a University Library of Columbus web page.)
