Information for Faculty and Instructors

Welcome to the Anderson Library! The following information is provided to familiarize faculty and staff with library resources and services. Please contact a library staff member for any information not covered on this page.

Library Instruction

If you’d like someone to speak to your class about our online resources, library policies, information literacy, or a course related lecture, please e-mail anderson-library@ivytech.edu.

Library Resources

Print Materials

Books housed in the general collection may be checked out for two weeks. Renewal is available if the book is required for longer than two weeks. Reference books, periodicals, and newspapers may not be checked out; however, instructors are welcome to discuss the short term use of reference materials with the library staff.

Audiovisual Equipment and Materials

Faculty and staff may check out VHS, DVD and CDs for two days. If materials are needed longer than two days please make the appropriate arrangements with the library staff.

Online Resources

Hundreds of thousands of peer-reviewed/non peer-reviewed articles can be found over a diverse span of subjects. Photos, videos, music, reference materials, eBooks, and other multimedia applications may also be accessed. Ivy Tech's online resources may be accessed by logging on via library computer or choosing the library tab in My Ivy. Please remember, while accessible through the Internet, the resources available are merely online versions of the print source.

SERVICES

Interlibrary Loan

Please ask staff members for Interlibrary Loan (ILL) assistance.

Suggestions/Requests

We welcome suggestions and requests from faculty and staff. While it may not be possible to honor all suggestions, every attempt will be made to accommodate the need. Request forms may be found here; once they are completed they may be submitted for consideration.

Reserve Materials

Instructors may place materials on reserve at the Anderson library. Please leave staff members detailed instructions as to how you would like the material maintained, distributed, etc. Materials must be picked up at the end of each semester unless instructors make renewal arrangements with library staff.
