Request library instruction

Information Literacy Sessions impact learning outcomes and support Ivy Tech’s focus on student success. The Library can provide instructional support for your class and sessions will be tailored to your specific needs. Our goal is to improve student critical thinking skills and use of library resources. Sessions may be scheduled in CLC 1614 or 1621 located in the library or in your own classroom to fit your schedule and needs. Please complete the form below so we can best serve you. Instruction sessions are based on availability of the librarians. You will receive a confirmation email once your session is scheduled. Thank you.

Instruction expectations

  • Your presence is requested. We prefer that instructors remain with their classes during library instruction. Students are more involved and the learning experience is enhanced when instructors are available for questions and clarifications.
  • One week's notice is required, as library staff need time to prepare for instructional sessions.
  • Library instruction is more meaningful for students when it is relevant to their current course assignments. Ideally, library instruction should be scheduled close to the time students begin working on their research-related assignments.

If you have additional questions

  • Please e-mail Abigail Hilyard at agardenour@ivytech.edu with your questions or to organize an instruction directly.
