Call Number: My daughter and I love Splash Mountain and the song "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah" I do think Disney did do a good job of removing the questionable aspects of the movie. I know many love the movie, maybe because they grew up on it, they do not realize how apalling the racial references are. When my daughter and I found the movie streaming online, and we sat and watched it, I can not tell you how many times our mouths dropped. I was raised and I am raising my daughter to treat everyone with respect no matter their race, culture, and identity. It does not mean we are forgetting our past, because we are learning from those mistakes. The movie should not be forgotton, and the decorations should not be distroyed. If Disney is smart they could use it to showcase how previously acceptable racist views are no longer tolerated and become a talking point for diversity.
