What is Evidence-Based Practice (EBP)?

Evidence-based practice (EBP) is a problem-solving approach to the delivery of health care that combines three elements: (1) the best evidence available (from studies and data found in published medical literature); (2) the practitioner's clinical expertise (acquired through education and clinical experience); (3) the patient's preferences (communicated by patient to clinician).
