Finding information on public companies is relatively easy. There are many sources, both print and online, that will provide comprehensive information on almost all public companies. The databases below are subscribed to by Ivy Tech and provide a starting point for company research. Some of the databases will include some information on private companies.
Information on privately held companies is much less available.
Information on private companies can be hard to find since they do not have to report to the Securities Exchange Commission. Good places to start are the company's website, search local newspapers or the library's databases for articles regarding that company.
