Mission Statement

The Ivy Tech Community College Libraries are full partners in the educational and workforce development mission of the College. The libraries teach research strategies, support the curriculum, and encourage independent and lifelong learning by providing the space, information resources, instruction, and related services essential for academic success. The Libraries advance information literacy, critical thinking, and collaborative learning in a welcoming environment that promotes, and is enriched by, the diverse cultural and intellectual interests of students, faculty, and community.

Purpose and Use

You are welcome to enjoy the Ogle Learning Commons' Library!   Please take advantage of our quiet study spaces, study room and technology as you pursue your academic work or just relax.   As using the Library is a shared privilege, we ask that people:

  • Work quietly and converse in a tone that is not distracting.
  • Use cell phones in a courteous manner, turning ringers off or setting them to vibrate, and conducting extended conversations just outside of the library to facilitate the library's atmosphere.
  • Open food and drink containers are allowed in the Library, but users should ensure that debris is discarded in trash receptacles.

If you have questions or concerns about the Library, please ask a staff member.

Information Resources Collection Policies

The primary mission of the Library at Ivy Tech is to provide access to materials, information, and services that supports and supplements the educational mission of the College.

To further develop its collection, the Library purchases information resources and online access that directly support the needs of the students and faculty. The Library also recognizes its responsibility to respond to the needs of the College, faculty, administration, and staff, and to provide general information and some recreational reading for all its users.
