Parenthetical Reference and Questions

Have a question about a particular citation in your list - click on the Have a Question? link.  Once there, enter your name, email and question for submission.  You will receive a response within 24 hours. 

Not sure how to do a Parenthetical Reference after placing sentences or quotations from a source in your paper? 

Once you have created the citation for a source, click on the Parenthetical Reference link for that source from the list of citations in the project.  This link will take you to a new window with examples of how to format and place the Parenthetical Reference in your paper.

Components

You can find you Works Cited here in the Components box.  You can retrieve your Works Cited or References by clicking on the link that is labeled that subject.

You even have the option of starting your works cited project in Google Docs.  Just click on Paper, Start in Google Docs.  You will be taken to the Google Docs web site to log in using your GMail user-name and password.  If you don't already have an account with Google, you can set one up at this time.

Creating a List of Citations

Creating a List: How the process starts.

1.  Click   to start the process.

2.  Select the appropriate citation style:

MLA (MLA Handbook, 8th ed.), APA (APA Publication Manual (6th ed.) or Chicago/Turabian (Chicago Manual of Style)

Choosing MLA Advanced gives more options for types of sources to cite than MLA starter.

Note: Keep in mind that projects can now be converted between styles even after you have begun adding citations.  You should still ask your instructor if you aren't sure.

3.  Description box -give your new list a short name to separate it from other lists you
     make.

4.  Finally, click Create Project

The Dashboard

On your Dashboard, you can give your Project a name, add a Research Question, and Thesis Statement.  You can even view the History of you project by clicking on "30-day log of work done on this project."

You may also choose to share your project with you teacher or instructor or collaborate with other students on a group project.

To Do List

Another option NoodleTools provides is a To Do List.  This option is located in the Dashboard page of NoodleTools located to the right of the Components section. 

Click on add-to-do item and enter the required information including a due date.  This option will help keep you on task and your project done on time.

Comments

At the bottom of Dashboard in NoodleTools there is a Comments section.  This is where your teacher or even other students you are working with can leave comments about your work.  You can use the comments given to improve your work.
