Edible Book Festival - Fort Wayne

Rules

  • The Ivy Tech Community College Library's Edible Book Festival is FREE and open to the public.

  • You do not have to make an edible book in order to attend. Anyone can come and enjoy the festival.

  • You must be 18 years or older to register to create an edible book for this event. Children under the age of 18 are welcome to participate under the supervision of the registered adult.

  • There is no fee to register.

  • Participants must make a representation of a book using food and food products. This entry can be based on a book or a pun on a book title. For example,"To Grill a Mockingbird" or "Les Miser-apples".

  • Participants must be present for the whole festival from 11:00 am set up time until 2:00 pm.

  • Participants must personally serve their “edible book.”

  • Ingredients of each “edible book” entry must be provided at the event so that they can be displayed for those with food allergies.​

Ivy Tech Library will provide

  • A table to display your "edible book".

  • Table will have a plain white paper covering.

  • A table top display with your name, your entry name, the image of the book that you are basing your dish on, and a form for listing your entry ingredients.

  • Plates, napkins, utensils, cups and gloves for serving.

  • Prizes for Best Design, Funniest Entry, and Best Tasting.

Participants are asked to provide

  • An "edible book" - a dish based on a book or pun of a book title. This dish or dish compliments will be served to festival attendants.

  • A list of ingredients.

  • A serving utensil (pie knife, spoon, etc)

  • Any promotional or decorative elements. Businesses are welcome to bring business cards or flyers to add to their table.

  • Feel free to dress-up in the theme of your edible book entry.
