Most libraries assign Library of Congress Subject Headings to items in their catalogs. These headings can help you get good results when searching "By Subject." Here are a few examples of subject headings:
Look for subject headings at the bottom of journal articles in particular. When searching online, you'll find that many of these headings are hyperlinked, which can lead you to additional resources associated with the topic.
