Indiana Literary Organizations & Centers

The Indiana Arts Commission
The Indiana Arts Commission (IAC), an agency of state government, is a public catalyst, partner, and investor in the arts, and serves the citizens of Indiana by funding, encouraging, promoting and expanding the arts.

Arts Council of Indianapolis
When the council was founded in 1987, it served as the arts granting agency for the City of Indianapolis, and had a primary focus of overseeing funding for arts organizations and artists. In addition to grants, it now also provides marketing, technical, legal and other business-related services to artists and arts organizations throughout central Indiana. Its sister website www.indyarts.org provides an online database featuring over 600 artists involved in art’s major disciplines, including dance, visual arts, theater, spoken word and storytelling, music and more.

The Indiana Writers Center
The Indiana Writers Center is the only comprehensive community-based literary arts organization in Indiana. The Center offers classes and workshops; collaborates with the University of Indianapolis to provide education services to the local community; hosts "A Gathering of Writers," a day-long celebration that brings writers, publishers, and literary agents to Indianapolis to participate in workshops, public readings, and panel discussions.

Indiana Arts
This website is Indiana’s only statewide arts information online resource. Its centralized portal and online community contains detailed registries of artists, organizations, and arts-related businesses. The site’s registered members can publish online portfolios, event listings with images, classified ads, and subscribe to opt-in email communications.
