Binding Wounds, Pushing Boundaries:  African Americans in Civil War Medicine

This exhibit provides often unrecognized details about the African American men and women who served as surgeons and nurses in the Civil War and how their work as   medical providers challenged the prescribed  notions of race and gender.

Please join us to explore the exhibit and this moment in history and visit the National Library of Medicine to learn more about  their traveling exhibits.
