The Ivy Tech Community College Libraries are full partners in the educational and workforce development mission of the College. The libraries teach research strategies, support the curriculum, and encourage independent and lifelong learning by providing the space, information resources, instruction, and related services essential for academic success. The Libraries advance information literacy, critical thinking, and collaborative learning in a welcoming environment that promotes, and is enriched by, the diverse cultural and intellectual interests of students, faculty, and community.
In accordance with the American Library Association Policy and state law, Library staff will not release information regarding: who has a particular item checked out, what items have been checked out by a particular patron, or how a particular patron has used library materials.

Sec. 4. (a) The following public records are excepted from section 3 of this chapter and may not be disclosed by a public agency, unless access to the records is specifically required by a state or federal statute or is ordered by a court under the rules of discovery:

Policy reviews and subsequent changes in policy will occur annually in May. Immediate needs for policy review and changes will be at the discretion of the Library Director.
