Limited AI Use – Promoting Critical Thinking
This course emphasizes critical thinking and the development of independent research skills. To ensure these objectives are met, the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools for tasks such as essay writing, code generation, or automated translation is strictly prohibited. Citations and references must be completed manually, demonstrating a strong understanding of the source material. Collaboration with classmates and consultation with the instructor are highly encouraged.
Conditional AI Use – Fostering Responsible Integration
This course acknowledges the potential of AI as a learning tool. However, its use requires responsible integration. Students may utilize AI for tasks like grammar and plagiarism checking, data analysis, or brainstorming initial ideas. However, all AI-generated content must be thoroughly reviewed, understood, and potentially revised for clarity and accuracy. The final product should reflect the student's own knowledge and critical analysis.
Open AI Use – Embracing Innovation
This course embraces the exploration of AI as a learning and research tool. Students are encouraged to experiment with AI for a variety of tasks, including research assistance, content creation, and problem-solving. However, understanding the limitations and biases inherent in AI tools is crucial. Critical evaluation of AI outputs remains essential. Students are expected to disclose the use of AI and explain its role in their work.
