Library Technolgy Overview

Technology Access

Students can access desktop computers by logging in with their Ivy Tech email and password, no checkout required. For other technology items like laptops, webcams, chargers, headsets, and calculators, students must check them out at the Library Service Desk using their Ivy Tech Student ID or C#.

Most loanable technology is for in-library use only.

Computers & Laptops

Computers
Library computers are available for students to check email, complete assignments, and conduct research. To use a computer, simply log in with your Ivy Tech username and password. All library computers provide access to essential software and services, including:

  • Printing
  • Zoom
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and more)
  • Web Browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge)

Laptops
Laptops are available for students check out for use within library spaces.

All library laptops include access to essential software and services, such as:

  • Printing

  • Zoom

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and more)

  • Web Browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge)

Printers, Copiers, & Scanners

Scanning

You can scan documents and images to:

  • Email (send scans directly to your inbox)

  • Flash Drive (USB)

  • Google Drive

  • OneDrive

Scanning to Email, Flash Drive, Google Drive, and OneDrive is FREE

Scanning & Faxing Instructions

  1. Touch the screen to begin.

  2. Select your scanning method:

  • Email
  • Flash Drive (USB)
  • Google Drive
  • OneDrive
  • Fax
  1. Choose your file format, color preference, and resolution.

  2. Click "Scan Now" to start scanning.

  3. To scan additional pages, open the cover, flip the item, and select "Scan More Pages."

Faxing Costs

*Fax Machine only accepts cash or coin payments.

  • $0.25 for a one-sided fax to the U.S. or Canada

  • $1.00 for a one-sided international fax
    (Payment is required before sending a fax.)

When finished, click "Next," enter your email and/or phone number, click "Accept" and "Next," then select "I’m Done" scanning.

Specialty Equipment & Accessories

Webcams
Webcams are available for students to check out to use in library to attend Zoom classes, virtual meetings, or online interviews.

For in-library use only: Webcams can be checked out for use at library computers or with personal laptops while inside the library.

Ask library staff for assistance if you need a webcam.

Headsets
Headsets are available for students to check out for in library use to attend Zoom classes, watch videos, or listen to audio recordings while in the library. 

For in-library use only: Headsets can be checked out for use at library computers or with personal devices inside the library.

Ask library staff for assistance if you need a headset.

Device Chargers
Charging cables are available for students to check out to charge phones, tablets, and laptops while in the library. ALL chargers are for in-library use only.

Ask library staff to check one out for you.

  • Apple (MacBook) chargers

  • PC laptop chargers

Scientific Calculators
Scientific calculators are available for students who are working in the library or tutoring space to check out. Calculators are for in-library use only and can be checked out at the library desk.

Ask library staff if you need a calculator while studying.

Anatomage Table

3D Anatomy System
A fully segmented, real human 3D anatomy system is available in the Lawrence library.

  • Visualize human anatomy just as you would on a fresh cadaver.

  • Individual structures are precisely reconstructed in detailed in 3D, allowing for an accurate and interactive learning experience.

Ask library staff for assistance if needed.

Software Access

Available Software
Select computers in the library are equipped with the following software:

  • Adobe Creative Cloud

  • AutoCAD

These programs are not available on all computers. Look for workstations with a special software logo label to identify which computers have Adobe Creative Cloud or AutoCAD installed.
