Good Morning America: The Story of the Pride Parade

June 28, 1970: The First Gay Pride Parade

On the first anniversary of the raid on the Stonewall Inn, the first Gay Pride Week, a procession of several thousand people marched from 6th avenue to Central Park in New York.

The march was organized by bisexual activist Brenda Howard, the "Mother of Pride."
