Computers
The South Bend Library offers 17 Personal Computers (PC) and 2 iMacs and the Elkhart location offers 10 PCs and 2 iMacs for students, faculty, staff, and community members. Both campuses offer free WiFi and all computers contain standard software (ex. Microsoft Office) along with other features and tools (see full list). A few considerations:
- Login - You will need to sign in to our desktops with your Ivy Tech credentials. If you are not affiliated with Ivy Tech, we can issue you a guest pass (ask the front desk). Since this is a public resource, please make sure to logoff once you are completed.
- Saving - Make sure to save any work online (ex. Google Drive, One Drive) or on a USB. Work saved to the desktop may be lost.
- Wireless Internet Access (laptops, phones, tablets) -- Users will need to browse their available wireless networks and select appropriately either "IvyStudent," "IvyStaff," or "IvyGuest." An Ivy Tech username and password is required to access the IvyStaff and IvyStudent networks.
Printing (Color and Black & White Available)
- Laser Jet Printing - Students are permitted a $5 quota per semester. This can be used for black & white prints at 5 cents per page or 3 1/2 cents for duplexed pages. Color prints are 30 cents per page or 45 cents for duplexed pages. For PowerPoint presentations, please print multi-slides per page. Ask for assistance at the desk if needed.
- Adding Funds - Additional print allotments may be purchased from the Bursar/Business Office (Cash only) or with a credit card through the Student Dashboard in MyIvy (Search "Print Funds") or through PaperCut (sign-in with Ivy Tech credentials)
- Wireless Printing - Students must be logged in to the IvyStudent network.
