What do we offer?

We offer tutoring for all math courses, as well as most science, technology, and engineering courses at Ivy Tech.  Students can drop into the lab any time during our open hours to see a tutor or may schedule an in-person or virtual appointment ahead of time. 

What courses can we assist with?

  • Math: All math courses at Ivy Tech and math topics in non-math courses: eg. unit conversions, dosage calculations, statistical analysis
  • Science: Physics, Chemistry, Astronomy, Earth Science
  • Engineering: Statics, Dynamics, Thermodynamics
  • IT: Informatics, Networking, Software Development, Computer Science
  • Technology: CINS & BOAT coursework, Microsoft Office

Writing Center

What do we offer?

We offer one-on-one tutoring at all stages of the writing process, coaching students and sharing strategies to help them improve their writing and grow as writers. Students can drop-in during select drop-in hours each week or may schedule an in-person or Zoom appointment ahead of time. 

What areas can we assist with?

  • All writing assignments in all Ivy Tech courses
  • ESOL language development
  • Scholarship or personal statement essays
  • Resumes or cover letters

New Service for Faculty & Staff:

Due to recent requests from faculty across the curriculum for assistance workshopping assignment prompts, personal statements, and graduate-level coursework, the Writing Center now offers free writing support to Ivy Tech Indianapolis faculty and staff. While in-person or virtual writing consultations are encouraged, we can also offer asynchronous written feedback within 2-3 business days.

Library Research Assistance

We offer do we offer?

Located in NMC Library (NMC 400 suite), Lawrence Library (F157), or available via Zoom, we offer 30 minute appointments and drop-in support to locate credible sources (scholarly articles, current event articles, books, etc.) for assignments using the library’s resources.

What additional areas can we assist with?

  • Using computer and internet applications
  • Navigating MyIvy, IvyLearn, and Zoom
  • Ordering print copies of textbooks
  • Printing, scanning, and copying
  • Locating Ivy Tech information
