Accessibility Options

The following links provide information about the accessibility features available with Apple and Microsoft products, and IvyLearn.

Assistive Technology (AT)

Assistive technology (AT) is any item, piece of equipment, software or product system that is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities.

A student can utilize AT by contacting the Disability Support Services lead. For most equipment and/or software, students must register with DSS by disclosing their disability or condition. AT is provided as an accommodation for students approved for services through DSS.

To register with DSS, please visit the Prospective Students & Parents tab for information regarding the registration process.

Process for Requesting AT:

1. Student registers with DSS.

2. Student is determined eligible for AT use.

3. Complete an equipment request located on Disability Accommodation Request through MyIvy.

4. Meet with DSS staff to request AT services * (30 min appointment).

Current students will repeat steps 3-4 each semester. For more information regarding  semester requests, please consult the Current Students tab.

For questions or more information please contact the DSS office: email: kk-disabilitysvcs@ivytech.edu.

*  TextHelp for students to use at home is available on the MyIvy Student Resources page under Software.
