  • ILL privileges may be revoked for a repeated pattern of lost items or failing to pick up requested items.
  • All books loaned to other libraries from Ivy Tech Central Indiana Libraries will check out for 6 weeks.
  • All books borrowed from other libraries for Ivy Tech Central Indiana students will have the due date determined by the lending library.

Fines and Fees

  • Items will still check out for 2 weeks.
  • Once overdue, 2 weeks of grace will occur with no fines.
  • Week 3-4 overdue will result in a flat $3 fine
  • Week 5+ the item will be declared lost.
  • If an item is declared lost or is heavily damaged, the fine will be the replacement cost of the item plus a $5.00 handling fee.
  • Once a lost item has been paid for, there are no refunds.
    • If the lost item is returned before the replacement copy is ordered, the cost of the book is removed from the student record by staff leaving just the processing fee. That results in a flat $5 fee for each lost item.
    • If the lost item is returned either after the replacement copy is ordered, after 2 years, or if it is no longer in our catalog, the replacement cost and the processing fee stay in place.
  • Textbooks: Overdue reserve textbook fines are $3.00 per hour. Read the textbook policy for more information.
