General Research Collection
Up to 10 books can be checked out at any one time for currently enrolled Ivy Tech Students. Books are checked out for 2 weeks at a time. A book may be renewed unless another patron has placed a hold on it. Books may not be checked out over semester breaks unless you are registered for classes for the following semester.
Reserve Textbook Collection
Only currently enrolled Ivy Tech Students may check out reserves or textbooks to use. Faculty and staff currently enrolled in an Ivy Tech class may check out the textbook for the class they are enrolled in. Learning Resource Center tutors may check out textbooks to take out of the library for tutoring purposes.
Reserve textbooks are checked out for 4 hours at a time and may leave the library. Click here to read the complete textbook policy.
Journals and magazines can be checked out. They have the same circulation policy as books. The current issue is library use only. Newspapers do not check out and must remain in the library.
Books and journal articles not available in our library may be ordered from other libraries. Please consult the Interlibrary Loan FAQ page. The delivery time varies depending on which library has the book:
From other Ivy Tech libraries, 1-2 weeks
From non-Ivy Tech libraries, 1-2 weeks
Articles can usually be obtained in one to two business days
North Meridian Campus:
Videos may be checked out by faculty and for in library use by students.
Lawrence Campus:
All videos may be checked out by faculty.
Students may view videos in the library or check out non-medical feature films.
No DVD checkouts to community users.
DVD’s will check out for one week, limit two at a time. Late fees should be calculated as follows:
Day 8 (1 day late) is $3.00
Day 9 (2 days late) is cost of the DVD plus $5.00.
If the DVD is returned, the cost is only $5.00.
