HLC Visit 2019

The Valparaiso Campus Library strives to educate its students, staff, and faculty on the ethical use of information. We provide instruction in a variety of ways:

  • In person, either in a group classroom setting or one-on-one
  • Provide handouts on proper formatting for papers and reference citations and provide online access to these resources, including examples
  • CREDO Instruct - an online interactive tutorial that teaches information literacy
  • Noodletools - a subscription service that helps users with proper citations, formatting, and the writing process

Citation Resources

The Library offers citation guides with examples and sample papers for APA and MLA styles.

More examples and video instruction can be found on the Citation Resources page of the Valparaiso Library website.

Credo Instruct

CREDO Instruct - Ivy Tech Library Information Literacy tutorials made up of a pre and post test and six modules with quizzes. The topics range from basic research skills, selecting and evaluating resources, and citation skills. Instructors can add any of these modules into their courses. Students can access the entire course without the assessments from the library website.

Noodletools

In addition to being a citation tool, NoodleTools is able to help you stay organized when writing an essay or research paper.
