Tools for Students, Faculty, and Staff

Free Transportation - The City of Anderson provides free bus transportation for IvyTech students, faculty, and staff. (IvyTech ID card required)

Library instruction:  Faculty request library instruction to teach students use of library website, resources, and support for specific assignments.

Ask-A-Librarian:  The library website has a tab for students to email questions to librarians.

Libraries and Resources:  The Anderson library website contains a complete listing of databases and online resources which support student assignments, citation help, library instruction, and research.  The website also provides the online catalog called IvyCat for access to Library resources - print books/ebooks and DVD resources.

Library Space:  The library provides a space for students to gather for group work or individual study. Computers, copiers and project tools are available. The circulation desk provides assistance with printing, copying and scanning materials in addition to office tools such as staplers, hole punch machine, and pencil sharpeners.

Interlibrary Loan: The library participates in Interlibrary Loan through SRCS, the Indiana system, and OCLC, an international catalog. This allows students to access resources from other libraries that the Ivy Tech libraries do not have. Materials are sent through the Indiana delivery system, InfoExpress. We do not ship or borrow from out of state.

Supplemental Instruction: Supplemental Instruction (SI) is a series of weekly review sessions for students taking historically difficult courses. SI is provided for all students who want to improve their understanding of course material and improve their grades.

CREDO Instruct: Ivy Tech Library Information Literacy tutorials are made up of a pre and post test and six modules with quizzes. The topics range from basic research skills, selecting and evaluating resources, and citation skills. This resource will replace IvyTILT.

Reserve Textbooks: We have many classroom textbooks that students can use while in the library.

Library Help

The library assists students and faculty in so many ways. Below is a list of ways the library helps but it is not limited to the list!

  • Help in using our Online Library services. If students are writing a paper and need resources, they can come in and we will show them how to search through thousands of articles, books, audio, and videos to find just the right resources!
  • Help in formatting papers
  • Microsoft Office installation
  • Microsoft Office tutoring
  • MyIvy and IvyLearn help
  • Computers are available to do homework
  • New magazine and newspapers are available to read
  • Headsets, calculators, HDMI cables are available to use while in the library
  • Writing Center – The writing center will give the students direction from the first draft of their paper to their final paper. To receive help the student can schedule an appointment, walk-in, or email their paper.
  • Noodle Tools – Students can get assistance while using this citation tool.
  • Printing – Every semester the students are given $5.00 to print. The library shows them how to save when using their printing dollars!

Study Rooms, Announcement Monitor, and More!

50 Inch Monitor for Announcements and Weekly Tips

Small Study Rooms with Monitor

We have two small study rooms that students can use to study, take a test, or study together as a group.
