The Ivy Tech Community College Libraries are full partners in the educational and workforce development mission of the College. The libraries teach research strategies, support the curriculum, and encourage independent and lifelong learning by providing the space, information resources, instruction, and related services essential for academic success. The Libraries advance information literacy, critical thinking, and collaborative learning in a welcoming environment that promotes, and is enriched by, the diverse cultural and intellectual interests of students, faculty, and community.
Please note that some policies vary by campus. If you plan to visit a physical location, you can check policies on the local pages listed below.
Use your student ID card to check out items. Do not loan your library card or books to anyone else. You are responsible for damaged or lost books checked out to your card.
Loan periods vary by campus. Check your Library's website for local loan periods.
Materials may be renewed in person at the library, or online at the Virtual Library (before they are overdue) by going to IvyCat, and then clicking on My Account near the top of the screen. Some items need to be renewed in person and some are not eligible for renewal.
Failure to pay fees for lost or damaged items will result in suspension of your borrowing privileges. You will also be unable to register for classes, drop or add classes, or graduate. After fifty-eight (58) days the Business Office will turn your account over to a collection agency, you may owe additional fees, and the library will no longer accept lost items.
Overdue fees for most materials are show in this chart. Some items are subject to their own fee schedule which will be discussed at checkout.

The purpose of the Ivy Tech Ask-a-Librarian services is to provide real-time, easy electronic access to research assistance for Ivy Tech Community College students, faculty, and staff. Ask-a Librarian Services include chat, email, and video conferencing. These services allow the Ivy Tech Libraries to offer traditional, virtual, and online students access to library services. The purpose of these services is to provide support for the academic work of all members of the Ivy Tech community and, to an extent, the general public as well. The expectations for the quality of Ask-a-Librarian services are the same as all of Ivy Tech Libraries’ in-person reference services.
